At NCFCU, we understand that our members need to have access to their money, whenever and wherever they need it. We also know that many of our members have accounts at other financial institutions and need to transfer money between their various accounts. With Online and Mobile Banking, moving money from one account to another is as easy as a click of a button.

Here’s how it works:

Visit NCFCUonline.org to log into your Online Banking profile.

Or download the free NCFCU Mobile App to access your accounts on your smart phone or tablet. If you don’t already have the mobile app, you will need to download it to your device. Note: If you have an Android® phone or tablet, you will find the app in the Google Play Store. If you have an Apple® iPhone or iPad, you can download the app in the App Store.

For those who have never used Online or Mobile Banking you will need to enroll your account first. If you have accessed your NCFCU Online or Mobile Banking previously, you can skip this step.

Start by clicking “Enroll Here”, this will take you to the New User Enrollment screen.

You can enroll in two easy steps.

In Step 1, you will verify your identity by proving the following information:

– Your Primary Account Number to be linked

– Your Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number

– Your Date of Birth

In Step 2, you will set up your new credentials by providing the following information:

– Your Email Address

– Your created username

– Your created password

Once registered, log into your profile either through Online Banking or on the NCFCU Mobile App. For the sake of providing instruction, I will be using Online Banking to walk you through these steps.

When logged into your Online Banking profile, across the top-menu bar select the option: Transfer & Pay > Transfer. Below the blue disclaimer box, you will see the clickable link that says “Manage External Accounts”. Click this link, which will redirect you to your “Settings” Page – third box down is “Accounts Outside of NCFCU”. Select “Link an External Account”.(You can also link another NCFCU account to your account, that option is in the top part of the box and is called “Accounts at NCFCU”).

You will enter the routing number, account number, checking or savings, and a brief description of the other financial institution’s account that you are trying to link your NCFCU account. At this point, you will need to agree to the terms of service to move forward.

For the next step, you will need to wait for two “micro-deposits”, these deposit amounts will each be less that $1.00, to post to your other financial institution’s account (please be aware that this can take up to 24 hours).

When these deposits appear, you will need to return to your NCFCU Online or Mobile Banking and enter these micro-deposit amounts EXACTLY as they appear. This is the Credit Union’s way of communicating with the other financial institution to verify that the correct account is being linked.

Once you have linked your external account to your NCFCU account, you will be able to conduct transfers between the two accounts. Your linked accounts should appear in a drop down-menu on the “Transfer & Pay” section of your Online or Mobile Banking. You will select which account you would like the money to come “From” and which account you would like the money to go “To”, depending on which account you are transferring money.

You can establish one-time transfers or reoccurring/scheduled transfers which you can manage in Online and Mobile Banking. Linking an external account to your NCFCU account is also a way to make payments on your NCFCU loans, utilize the bill payment option or transfer money to another NCFCU member or family member.
